children sitting on floor while hearing a story read to them

CBCkids

We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful to save anyone — young and old! With this conviction, we are glad to offer CBCkids for children in KG1 to grade 7. Our aim isn’t to watch your children so you can sit through the service, but to teach them the Bible and the Gospel in a way they will understand best.

The teaching is age appropriate and story-oriented. You can trust that your kids are learning truths about Jesus from the Bible as we help them to walk faithfully in Jesus’ world — to understand who they are and what they do matters. We use the children’s curriculum produced by Mustard Seeds.

We begin our Sunday service all gathered together. After the Prayer of Petition & Offering, the children are dismissed to their classroom for a time of age-appropriate teaching.

On the fourth Sunday of the month, however, we have what we call “Family Sunday.” On these Sundays, the children remain with us for the entire service. We invite them to the front for a brief lesson that connects with the sermon, and then they return to sit with their parents.

Family Sundays give our children the opportunity to worship alongside the whole church body, to hear the Word preached, and to grow in the rhythms of congregational worship. It is a chance for families to share in the same service together, and for children to see and experience the faith of the wider church community.

Parents are always welcome to keep their children with them during the service on any Sunday if they would prefer.
